Ian is working with the Met Office International division as part of the World Meteorological Organisation's Voluntary Co-operation Programme. Ian's role includes assisting and mentoring the software developers who contribute to the Climsoft Climate Database Management System. Climsoft is used across Africa as well as in the South Pacific, the Caribbean and south-east Asia and provides an easy and cost-effective solution for the recording and retrieval of climate data.

In addition to working with the development team, Ian will lead a workshop for contributors in Kenya in late 2015.
